This may seem
too obvious for comment, but some confusion arises regarding references
to birds.
Note that
all
birds are animals - but not all animals are birds.
Here we use
the term "animal" in the biologist's inclusive sense
- meaning all birds, mammals, reptiles, and amphibians.
(By definition
we would also include insects, crustaceans, and a number of other
life forms. But we don't see many of those in our Hospital!)
