January 10, 2007 - South Florida Water Management District Grants Permit
After almost two years in process, SFWMD has finally granted our permits.
This has been a major hurdle, and a major stumbling block, to the development
of the new Wildlife Center.
We are overwhelmingly grateful to all of those who have brought us to
this point. These worthy individuals and entities (see partial list at
right, and apologies to anyone inadvertently omitted) have donated their
valuable time and resources to advancing our project,
without compensation and without reward. At least we can give them our
thanks.
The next step is to revise and prepare our Site Plan for submission
to Martin County's Growth Management Department. Since the County Commission
and Growth Management are supportive of our mission, and due to the
high degree of professionalism our volunteer team has brought to our
planning, we expect a swift and favorable review.
Soon we expect to actually get 'down and dirty' with the project!!
